I
1. Ὁδοὶ – ways, routes, pathways δύο – two εἰσί – there are, μία – one τῆς – of the ζωῆς – life καὶ – and μία – one τοῦ – of θανάτου – death, διάφορὰ – different, several δὲ – but πολλὴ – [with] much, great μεταξὺ – between τῶν – the, of δύο – two ὁδῶν – highways.
2. Ἡ – the μὲν – while, indeed οὖν – therefore, so, them τῆς – [of] the ζωῆς – life ἐστιν – is [he] αὕτη – this· πρῶτον – First ἀγαπησεις – you will love τὸν – in, the, him θεὸν – God τὸν – in, the, him ποιήσαντά – who made σε – [in, into] you, δεύτερον – a second time τὸν – in, the, him πλησίον – neighbor, close, near σου – of you ὡς – as σεαυτόν – yourself· πάντα – all δὲ – but, now ὅσα – as many as, find ἐὰν – [and] if θελήσῃς – should, want μὴ – not, non γίνεσθαί – to take place σοι – you, καὶ – and σὺ – in you ἄλλῳ – to another μὴ – not, non 1}ποίει – .
3. Τούτων – these δὲ – but, now τῶν – of the λόγων – words, reasons ἡ – the διδαχή – teaching ἐστιν – is [he] αὕτη – this· εὐλογεῖτε – bless, blessing τοὺς – their, them, the καταρωμένους – curse, cursing ὑμῖν – unto you καὶ – and προσεύχεσθε – pray ὑπὲρ – for τῶν – of the ἐχθρῶν – hatred, enemies ὑμῶν – [of] you, 2}νηστεύετε – δὲ – but, now ὑπὲρ – for τῶν – of the 3}διωκότων ὑμᾶς – upon you· ποία – which γὰρ – indeed, for χάρις – [the] grace, ἐὰν – [and] if ἀγαπᾶτε –you love τοὺς – their, them, the ἀγαπῶντας – loving ὑμᾶς – upon you; οὐχὶ – do not, it not καὶ – and τὰ – the, these ἔθνη – nations [of]] τὸ – that which, it αὐτὸ – him, this ποιοῦσιν – do, are doing; ὑμεῖς – upon you δὲ – but, now ἀγαπᾶτε – love τοὺς – them, their μισοῦντας – hated ὑμᾶς – upon you, καὶ – and οὐχ – not, cannot ἕξετε – you shall have, consider ἐχθρόν – hatred, enemy.
4. ἀπέχου – refrain τῶν – [of] of the σαρκικῶν – fleshly καὶ – and σωματικῶν – bodily, physically ἐπιθυμιῶν – desires· ἐὰν – [and] if τίς – what, the, who σοι – you δῷ – he should give ῥάπισμα – a blow with the palm εἰς – upon, unto, into, in, at τὴν – the δεξιὰν – right σιαγόνα – check, στέψον – [the] coronation, crowning, wedding, ceremony αὐτῷ – to him καὶ – and τὴν – the ἄλλην – another, other , καὶ – and ἔσῃ – you will be τέλειος – perfect · ἐὰν – [and] if ἀγγαρεύσιν – they compel σέ – in, into, you τις – what, the, who 4}μίλιον ἕν – one, ὕπαγε – get you away μετ’ – with αυτοῦ – this δύο – two· ἐὰν – [and] if ἄρῃ – he might carry τις – what, the, who τὸ – that which ἱμάτιόν – robe, cloak σου – of you, δὸς – [and] give αὐτῳ – him καὶ – and τὸν – in, the, him χιτῶνά – tunic, coat, shirt, camisole · ἐὰν – [and] if λάβῃ – shall take τις – what, who, the ἀπὸ – from σοῦ – of you τὸ – what, which, it σόν – you, yours, μὴ – not, non ἀπαίτει – ask [it] back· οὐδὲ – neither, nor γὰρ – indeed, for δύνασαι – you are able.
5. παντὶ – every, everyone τῷ – of him αἰτοῦντί – who asks, that asketh, asks for σε – [in, into] you δίδου – give καὶ – and μὴ – not, non ἀπαίτεν – ask [it] back· πᾶσι – all [things] γὰρ – indeed, for θέλει – desire, desireth, want 5}δίδοσθαι ὁ – who πατὴρ – father ἐκ – of, from, through τῶν – [of] the ἰδίων – own χαρισμάτων – [of] gifts, talents. μακάριος – blessed ὁ – who διδοὺς – gives κατὰ – according to, against τὴν – the ἐντολήν – commandment· ἀθῷος – guiltless, innocent γάρ – indeed, for, but, because ἐστιν – is [he]. οὐαὶ – woe τῷ – of him λαμβάνονα – taking τις – what, the, who, ἀθῷος – guiltless, innocent ἔσται – [it] will be· ὁ – who δὲ – but, now μὴ – not, non χρείαν – need, have need (6}ἔχων – ἔχων – hath, that hath, having, them as [one] having, he who has [hath], which had δώσει – will give δίκην – [the] penalty, 7}ἱνατί ἔλαε – he received καὶ – and εἰς – upon, unto, in, at, into τί – what· ἐν – in 8}συνοωῇ δὲ – but, now γενόμενος – having been made ἐξετασθήσεται – were tested, tested περὶ – about, towards ὧν – of what things ἔπραξε – did, καὶ – and οὐκ – not ἐξελεύσεται – will go forth, out, will go out ἐκεῖθεν – from there, μέχρις – until οὗ – that were ἀποδῷ – he should pay τὸν – in, the, him ἔσχατον – last κοδράντην – cent, farthing, kodranten.
6. ἀλλὰ – but καὶ – and περὶ – about, towards τούτου – of this δὲ – but, now εἰρηται – it has been said·9} Ἱδρωσάτω ἡ – the ἐλεημοσύνη – give to the needy σου – of you εἰς – at τὰς – the χεῖρας – [their, into the] hands σου – of you, μέχρις – until ἂν – anyhow γνῷς – shall you know τίνι – what δῷς – you give.
II
1. Δευτέρα – [the] second δὲ – but, now ἐντολὴ – commandment, mandate, instructions τῆς – the [one] διδαχῆς – teaching·
2. οὐ – not, cannot, no φονεύσεις – you will murder, οὐ – not, cannot, no μοιχεύσεις – do you commit adultery, οὐ – not, cannot, no 10}παιδοφθορήσεις, οὐ – not, cannot, no πορνεύσεις – committed fornication [prostitution], οὐ – not, cannot, no κλέψεις – you will steal, οὐ – not, cannot, no μαγεύσεις – mageύseis, sorcery, magic , οὐ – not, cannot, no φαρμακεύσεις – farmakeύseis, pharmacies, drugs, οὐ – not, cannot, no φονεύσεις – you will murder 11}τ́κνον – children ἐν – in φθορᾷ – perishable corruption, decay, οὐδὲ – nor γεννηθὲν – having been conceived, begotten ἀποκτενεῖς – will he kill himself, οὐκ – not ἐπιθυμήσεις – you will covet τὰ – the τοῦ – [the] one πλησίον – neighbor, close near by, beside.
3. οὐκ – not, no more ἐπιορκήσεις – you will swear falsely, οὐ – not, cannot, no ψευδομαρτυρήσεις – you will bear false witness, οὐ – not cannot, no κακολογήσεις – backbiting, malign, οὐ – not, cannot, no 12}μνησικακήσεις – grudges, [bitter] resentments, piques.
4. οὐκ – not, no more ἔσῃ – you will be 13}διγνώμων οὐδὲ – nor 14}δίγλωσσος· παγὶς – fixed, standing γὰρ – indeed, for θανάτου – of death ἡ – the 15}διγλωσσία.
5. οὐκ – not, no more ἔσται – will be ὁ – who λόγος – statement, word σου – of you ψευδής – false, οὐ – not, no, cannot κενός – void, vacant, blank, ἀλλὰ – but μεμεστωμένος – full πράξει – deed.
6. οὐκ – not, no more ἔσῃ – you will be πλεονέκτης – grasping, greedy, covetous οὐδὲ – neither, nor ἅρπαξ – swindler οὐδὲ – neither, nor ὑποκριτὴς – hypocrite οὐδὲ – neither, nor κακοήθης – malicious οὐδὲ – neither, nor ὑπερήφανος – have pride [in ones self]. οὐ – not, cannot, no 16}λήψῃ βουλὴν – [the] counsel, purpose πονηρὰν – cunning, guile κατὰ – according to, against τοῦ – of the [us] πλησίον – neighbor, close, near σου – of you.
7. οὐ – not, cannot, no μισήσεις – hate πάντα – all [things], everything ἄνθρώπον – man [people], ἀλλὰ – but οὓς – as many as, those who were μὲν – indeed ἐλέγξεις – will convict, περὶ – about, towards, for δὲ – but, now ὧν – of what things 17}προσεύξῃ, οὓς – as many as, those who were δὲ – but, now ἀγαπήσεις – you will love ὑπὲρ – for τὴν – the, which ψυχήν – [own] soul σου – of you.
III
1. Τέκνον – [a] child of, son, child μου – of me, φεῦγε – flee ἀπὸ – from παντὸς – all πονηροῦ – gunning, guile, evil καὶ – and ἀπὸ – from παντὸς – all ὁμοίου – kind αὐτου – this.
2. μὴ – not, non γίνου – be ὀργίλος – wrathful, wrathiness, ὁδηγεῖ – leads it γὰρ – indeed, for ἡ – the, or ὀργὴ – wrath πρὸς – to τὸν – who, to the φόνον – murder, μηδὲ – nor 18}ζηλωτὴς μηδὲ – nor 19}ἐπιστικὸς μηδὲ – nor 20}θυμικός· ἐκ – of, from, out γὰρ – indeed, for τούτων – these ἁπάντων – all φόνοι – murders γεννῶνται – born, arising, through.
3. τέκνον – [a] child [of] μου – of me, μὴ – not, non 21}γίνου – be ἐπιθυμητής – desirability, desired, ὁδηγεῖ – leads it γὰρ – indeed, for ἡ – the, or ἐπιθυμία – desires πρὸς – to τὴν – the, which πορνείαν – fornication, sexual immortality, μηδὲ – nor 22}αἰσψρολόγος μηδὲ – nor 23}υψηλόφθαλμος· ἐκ – of γὰρ – indeed, for τούτων – these ἁπαντων – all μοιχεῖαι – adulteries γεννῶνται – born, arising through.
4. τέκνον – [a] child [of] μου – of me, μὴ – not, non 21}γίνου – be 24}οἰωνοσκόκος, ἐπειδὴ – and when, because, seeing that ὁδηγεῖ – leads it εἰς – at τὴν – the, which εἰδωλολοατρίαν – idolatrous, cult of, μηδὲ – nor ἐπαοιδὸς – astrologers μηδὲ – nor μαθηματικὸς – neurologists, mathematician μηδὲ – nor 25}περικαθαίρίαν, μηδὲ – nor θέλε – wants αὐτὰ – these βλέπειν – and saw, sight, seeing· ἐκ – of γὰρ – indeed, for τοῦτων – these ἁπάντων – all εἰδωλολατρία – idolatry γεννᾶται – is born.
5. τέκνον – [a] child [of] μου – of me, 26}μῃ 21}γίνου – be ψεύστης – a liar, ἐπειδὴ – and when ὁδηγεῖ – leads it τὸ – what, which, it 27}ψεῦσμα εἰς – at τὴν – the, which 28}κλοπήν, μηδὲ – nor φιλάργυρος – love of money, miser, avaricious, ungenerous μηδὲ – nor κενόδοξος – vainglorious, snob· ἐκ – of γὰρ – indeed, for τούτων – these ἁπάντων – all κλοπαὶ – thefts γεννῶνται – born, arising, through.
6. τέκνον – [a] child [of] μου – of me, 26}μὴ 21}γίνου – be γόγγυσος – grumbling, murmuring, ἐπειδὴ – and when ὁδηγεῖ – leads it εἰς – at τὴν – the, which βλασφημίαν – blasphemy, μηδὲ – nor αὐθάδης – sassy, arrogant μηδὲ – nor 29}πονηρόφρων· ἐκ – of γὰρ – indeed, for τούτων – these ἁπάντων – all βλασφημίαι – slanders γεννῶνται – born, arising, through.
7. ἴσθι – remain δὲ – but, now πραΰς – gentle, meek, ἐπεὶ – since οἱ – who, the πραεῖς – meek κληρονομήσουσιν – will inherit τὴν – the, which γῆν – [the] land.
8. 21}γίνου – be μακρόθυμος – forbearing, slow to anger, long suffering καὶ – and ἐλεήμων – [a] merciful καὶ – and ἄκακος – innocent, harmless καὶ – and ἡσύχιος – peacefulness καὶ – and ἀγαθὸς – good καὶ – and τρέμων – shivery τοὺς – the λόγους – words διὰ – through παντός – all, everywhere, οὓς – as many as ἤκουσας – you heard.
9. οὐχ – not ὑψώσεις – exalt, exaltation, [rise] σεαυτὸν – yourself οὐδὲ – nor δώσεις – will you give τῇ – the ψυχῇ – soul [life] σου – of you θράσος – audacity, nerve, recklessness. οὐ – not κολληθήσεται – will be joined with ἡ – the ψυχή – soul [life] σου – of you μετὰ – after, with, past ὑψηλῶν – high, top, ἀλλὰ – but μετὰ – after, with, past δικαίων – the righteous καὶ – and ταπεινῶν – humble 30}ἀναστραφήσῃ.
10. τὰ – the συμβαίνοντά – [to] happen, happening σοι – [of]you ἐνεργήματα – working ὡς – as ἀγαθὰ – what is [good] 31}προσδέξῃ, εἰδὼς – having known ὅτι – that ἄτερ – away from θεοῦ – [the] God οὐδὲν – nothing γίνεται – takes place.
IV
1. Τέκνον – [a] child [of] μου – of me, τοῦ – the one λαλοῦντός – as he is speaking σοι – you τὸν – was, the λόγον – [a] word τοῦ – the one θεοῦ – God 32}μνησθήσῃ νυκτὸς – by night καὶ – and ἡμέρας – days, τιμήσεις – [He should] honor δὲ – but, now αὐτὸν – him ὡς – as κύριον – [the] Lord· ὅθεν – from where γὰρ – indeed, for ἡ – the κυριότης – ownership, property 33}λαλεῖται, ἐκεῖ – there κύριός – the master ἐστιν – is.
2. ἐκζητήσεις – questionings δὲ – but, now καθ’ – throughout [the] ἡμέραν – day τὰ – the πρόσωπα – faces, appearance τῶν – of the ἁγίων – saints, ἵνα – that ἐπαναπαῇς – rely on τοῖς – the λόγοις – words αὐτῶν – [of] these,them.
3. οὐ – not, cannot, no ποθήσεις – craved, yearned, lusted 34}σψίσμα – [a] schism, [a] division, εἰρηνεύσεις – peace, pacify δὲ – but, now μαχομένους – combatants· κρινεῖς – [lily], considers, judging δικαίως – justly, [quite] rightly, οὐ – not, cannot, no 35}λήψῃ πρόσωπον – face, person [is] ἐλέγξαι – to convict ἐπὶ – at [the time] παραπτώμασιν – in trespasses.
4. οὐ – not, cannot, no 36}διψυχήσεις, πότερον – whether ἔσται – will be ἢ – rather οὔ – that.
5. Μὴ – non, not 21}γίνου – be πρὸς – to, toward μὲν – indeed, for τὸ – that which λαβεῖν – take 37}ἐκτείνων τὰς – the χεῖρας – hands, πρὸς – to, toward δὲ – but, now τὸ – that, which δοῦναι – to give συσπῶν – contort, convulse, vellicate, retracts.
6. ἐὰν – [and] if 38}ἔχῃς – might have διὰ – through τῶν – of the χειρῶν – [their] hands σου – of you, δώσεις – will you give λύτρωσιν – redemption ἁμαρτιῶν – [from their] sins σου – of you.
7. οὐ – not, cannot, no 39}διστάσεις – dimensions [of] δοῦναι – to give οὐδὲ – nor διδοὺς – gives 40}γογγύσεις· γνώσῃ – you will know γάρ – indeed, for, τής – of ἐστιν – is ὁ – [the] one, who τοῦ – the [one] μισθοῦ – wages καλὸς – good ἀνταποδότης – contributory, repayer, requiter.
8. οὐκ – not, no more 41}άποστραφήσῃ τον –of the [one] 42}ἐνδεόμενον, 43}συγκοινωνήσεις δὲ – but, now πάντα – all τῷ – of him ἀδελφῷ – brother σοῦ – of you, thee καὶ – and οὐκ – not, no more ἐρεῖς – you will say ἴδια – own εἶναι – to be· εἰ – are γὰρ _ indeed, not ἐν – in τῷ – of him 44}ἀθανάτῳ κοινωνοί – partakers ἐστε – are you, πόσῳ – how much μᾶλλον – rather, sooner, much ἐν – in τοῖς – the 45}θνητοῖς;

10. οὐκ – not,no more ἐπιτάξεις – requisition, conscription, anepitaxial δούλῳ – servant σου – of you ἢ – rather παιδίσκῃ – servant girl, τοῖς – the ἐπὶ – at [the time] τὸν – was, of αὐτὸν – himself θεὸν – God 47}ἐλπίζουσιν, ἐν – in πικρίᾳ – bitterness σου – of you, μήποτε – no lest οὐ – not μὴ – not φοβηθήσονται – fear no τὸν – was, of ἐπ’ – upon ἀμφοτέροις – both θεόν – God· οὐ – not, cannot, no γὰρ – indeed, for ἔρχεται – is coming, shall come κατὰ – at, on, against πρόσωπον – person [is], face καλέσαι – to call, ἀλλ’ – but ἐφ’ – as οὓς – as many as τὸ – it πνεῦμα – spirit, humor ἡτοίμασεν – has prepared.
11. ὑμεῖς – you δὲ – but, now οἱ – who, the δοῦλοι – servants 48}ὑποταγήσεσθε τοῖς – the κυρίοις – masters ὑμῶν – of you ὡς – as 49}τύπτῳ θεοῦ – God ἐν – in αἰσχύνῃ – [the] shame καὶ – and φόβῳ – with fear.
12. Μισήσεις – hate πᾶσαν – all, every [mind] ὑπόκρισιν – hypocrisy καὶ – and πᾶν – every ὃ – that, which, the, that which μὴ – lest ἀρεστὸν – pleasing [that it] τῷ – of him κυρίῳ – [the] Lord.
13. οὐ – not, cannot, no μὴ – lest ἐγκαταλίπῃς _ forsake [you or I will] ἐντολὰς – commandments κυρίου – of [the] Lord, φυλάξεις – will keep δὲ – but, nowἃ – what παρέλαβες – you did receive, μήτε – neither προστιθεὶς – [is, be] added μήτε – neither ἀφαιρῶν – abstract, take away, remove(s).
14. ἐν – in ἐκκλησίᾳ – church ἐξομολογήσῃται – should confess τὰ – the παραπτώματα – tresspasses σου – of you, καὶ –and οὐ – no, cannot, no 50} προσελεύσῃ ἐπὶ – at [the time] προσευχήν – [place of] prayer σου – of you ἐν – in [the] συνειδήσει – conscience πονηρᾷ – cunning, evil, wicked· αὕτη – this ἐστὶν – is he ἡ – the, rather ὁδὸς- way τῆς – of the ζωῆς – [of, for the] life, living.

2. 53} διῶκται– they might be perzucutex ἀγαθῶν – with good things, μισοῦντες – hating ἀλήθειαν – the truth, ἀγαπῶντες – [by] loving, that love ψεῦδος – falsehood, lie, οὐ – the, no, cannot, not γινώσκοντες – knowing μισθὸν – rewards δικαιοσύνης – righteousness, οὐ – the, no, cannot, not κολλώμενοι – cleaving ἀγαθῷ – to good οὐδὲ – not κρίσει – judgement δικαίᾳ – righteous 54} ἀρυπνοῦντες οὐκ – not, no, more εἰς – at τὸ – it ἀγαθόν – benign, possession, ἀλλ’ – but εἰς – at τὸ – it πονηρὸν – evil, wicked· ὧν – of what things μακρὰν – at great length, away πραΰτης – gentleness καὶ – and ὑπομονή – patience, sufference, 55} μάταια ἀγαπῶντες – loving, διώκοντε – practice ἀνταπόδομα – a recompense, retributation, οὐκ – not, no more 56} ἐλεοῦντες 57}πρωχόν, οὐ – no, cannot, not, the 58}πονοῦντες ἐπὶ – at [the time] καταπονουμένῳ – being oppressed, οὐ – no, cannot, not, the γινώσκοντες – knowing τὸν – in, the ποιήσαντα – who made αὐτούς – themselves, φονεῖς – murderers τέκνων – [the] children [of the], φθορεῖς – corruption, decay, weaf πλάσματος – [of, a, the] plasma θεοῦ- God, ἀποστρεφόμενοι – turn away from τὸν – in, the 59}ἐνδεόμενον, 60}καταπονοῦντες τὸν – the, in θλιβόμενον – afflicted, compression [the], πλουσίων – rich [people], [the] wealthy παράκλητοι – pleadingly, πενήτων – of the poor ἄνομοι – lawlessness κριταί – judges, 61}πανθαμάρτητοι· 62}ῥυσθείητε, τέκνα – children, ἀπὸ – from τούτων – these ἁπάντων – all.
VI
1. Ὅρα – See that, μὴ – not, cannot, non τίς – who σε – you πλανήσῃ – mislead ἀπὸ – from ταύτης – this τῆς – of the ὁδοῦ – route τῆς – of the διδαχῆς – teaching, ἐπεὶ – since παρεκτὸς – except θεοῦ – God σε you διδάσκει – does teach.
2. εἰ – if μὲν – indeed γὰρ – but, because δύνασαι – you are able βαστάσαι – to carry 63}ὅολον – whole, entire, complete τὸν – in, the ζυγὸν – yoke [of], yoke heavy τοῦ – [of the] one κυρίου – of [the] Lord, τέλειός – perfect ἔσῃ – you will be· εἰ – if δ’ – but οὐ – no, cannot, not δύνασαι – you are able, ὃ – which δύνῃ – you are able [to do], τοῦτο – this ποίει – whichb.
3. περὶ – for, many δὲ – but, now τῆς – of the βρώσεως – eating, ὃ – which δύνασαι – you are able 64}βάστασον· ἀπὸ from δὲ – but, now τοῦ – [of the] one 65} εἰδωλοθύτου λίαν – greatly πρόσεχε – coming, upcoming, forthcoming, next, watch· λατρεία – service γάρ – because, indeed, but ἐστι – there is θεῶν – [of the] Gods νεκρῶν – dead.

XIV
1. Κατὰ κυριακὴν δὲ κυρίου συναχθέντες κλάσατε ἄρτον καὶ εὐχαριστήσατε, προεξομολογησάμενοι τὰ παραπτώματα ὑμῶν, ὅπως καθαρὰ ἡ θυσία ὑμῶν ᾐ.
2. πᾶς δὲ ἔχων τὴν ἀμφιβολίαν μετὰ τοῦ ἑταίρου αὐτοῦ μὴ συνελθέτω ὑμῖν, ἕως οὗ διαλλαγῶσιν, ἵνα μὴ κοινωθῇ ἡ θυσία ὑμῶν.
3. αὕτη γάρ ἐστιν ἡ ῥηθεῖσα ὑπὸ κυρίου· Ἐν παντὶ τόπὼ καὶ χρόνῳ προσφέρειν μοι θυσίαν καθαράν. ὅτι βασιλεὺς μέγας εἰμί, λέγει κύριος, καὶ τὸ ὄνομά μου θαυμαστὸν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι.
XV
1. Χειροτονήσατε οὖν ἑαυτοῖς ἐπισκόπους καὶ διακόνους ἀξίους τοῦ κυρίου, ἄνδρας πραεῖς καὶ ἀφιλαργύρους καὶ ἀληθεῖς καὶ δεδοκιμασμένους· ὑμῖν γὰρ λειτουργοῦσι καὶ αὐτοὶ τὴν λειτουργίαν τῶν προφητῶν καὶ διδασκάλων.
2. μὴ οὖν ὐπερίδητε αὐτούς· αὐτοὶ γὰρ εἰσιν οἱ τετιμημένοι ὑμῶν μετὰ τῶν προφητῶν καὶ διδασκάλων.
3. Ἐλέγχετε δὲ ἀλλήλους μὴ ἐν ὀργῇ, ἀλλ’ ἐν εἰρήνῃ ὡς ἔχετε ἐν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ· καὶ παντὶ ἀστοχοῦντι κατὰ τοῦ ἑτέρου μηδεὶς λαλείτω μηδὲ παρ’ ὑμῶν ἀκουέτω, ἕως οὗ μετανοήσῃ.
4. τὰς δὲ εὐχὰς ὑμῶν καὶ τὰς ἐλεημοσύνας καὶ πάσας τὰς πράξεις οὕτω ποιήσατε, ὡς ἔχετε ἐν τῷ εὐαγγελίῳ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν.
XVI
1. Γρηγορεῖτε ὑπὲρ τῆς ζωῆς ὑμῶν· οἱ λύχνοι ὑμῶν μὴ σβεσθήτωσαν, καὶ αἱ ὀσφύες ὑμῶν μὴ ἐκλυέσθωσαν, ἀλλὰ γίνεσθε ἕτοιμοι· οὐ γὰρ οἴδατε τὴν ὥραν, ἐν ᾗ ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν ἔρχεται.
2. πυκνῶς δὲ συναχθήσεσθε ζητοῦντες τὰ ἀνήκοντα ταῖς ψυχαῖς ὑμῶν· οὐ γὰρ ὠφελήσει ὑμᾶς ὁ πᾶς χρόνος τῆς πίστεως ὑμῶν, ἐὰν μὴ ἐν τῷ ἐσχάτῳ καιρῷ τελειωθῆτε.
3. ἐν γὰρ ταῖς ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις πληθυνθήσονται οἱ ψευδοπροφῆται καὶ οἱ φθορεῖς, καὶ στραφήσονται τὰ πρόβατα εἰς λύκους, και ἡ ἀγάπη στραφήσεται εἰς μῖσος.
4. αὐξανούσης γὰρ τῆς ἀνομίας μισήσουσιν ἀλλήλους καὶ διώξουσι καὶ παραδώσουσι, καὶ τότε φανήσεται ὁ κοσμοπλανὴς ὡς υἱὸσ θεοῦ, καὶ ποιήσει σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα, καὶ ἡ γῆ παραδοθήσεται εἰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ, καὶ ποιήσει ἀθέμιτα, ἃ οὐδέποτε γέγονεν ἐξ αἰῶνος.
5. τότε ἥξει ἡ κτίσις τῶν ἀντρώπων εἰς τὴν πύρωσιν τῆς δοκιμασίας, καὶ σκανδαλισθήσονται πολλοὶ καὶ ἀπολοῦνται, οἱ δὲ ὑπομείναντες ἐν τῇ πίστει αὐτῶν σωθήσονται ὑπ’ αὐτου τοῦ καταθέματος.
6. καὶ τότε φανήσεται τὰ σημεῖα τῆς ἀληθείας· πρῶτον σημεῖον ἐκπετάσεως ἐν οὐρανῷ, εἶτα σημεῖον φωνῆς σάπιγγος, καὶ τὸ τρίτον ἀνάστασις νεκρῶν.
7. οὐ πάντων δέ, ἀλλ’ ὡς ἐρρέθη· Ἥξει ὁ κύριος καὶ πάντες οἱ ἅγιοι μετ’ αὐτοῦ. 8. τότε ὄψεται ὁ κόσμος τὸν κύριον ἐρχόμενον ἐπάνω τῶν νεφελῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.
